I am a Clinical Psychologist in private practice in Brentwood, Northern California. My doctorate is in Clinical Psychology and my master's degree is in Spiritual Psychology.
I work with all kinds of people, using a combination of cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic and Spiritual Psychology orientations, to teach a variety of tools and techniques people can use to make their lives better. I am direct and focused on working to reduce your distress as soon as possible.
My approach is to work with resolving whatever issue is bringing you in to see me and then to look for ways to heal and prevent future problems.
Think of it like going to the emergency room with a broken leg. First the doctor determines you have a broken bone and then sets the bone. Later they may determine that there was something specific that caused you to break the bone and work on preventing that from happening again in the future. My experience has been that it is easier to prevent an issue from resurfacing once the individual is no longer in distress.
In addition to my private practice, I am on the faculty at The University of Santa Monica in Santa Monica, California, and have been a regular columnist on positive living and mental health for area newspapers and magazines.
In my centrally located office, I offer day and evening appointments and I accept many medical insurance plans. Please contact me to determine specific information about using your insurance plan.
